More . . .
MEHDA headquarters is within walking distance of bird-watching “hotspots” Scan Gambia Shrimp Farm and Faraba Banta. Our small-scale resource farm is surrounded by fields and shaded by Pirang’s community forest. We provide the Bantaba (traditional thatched roof meeting place) and moveable chairs—you provide the scopes—for relaxed nature study at its best.
We gladly accommodate eco-minded explorers who are interested in wildflowers, butterflies and reptiles.
One UK visitor who spent 4 days with us saw 110 species.
We guide walks connecting MEHDA, the Shrimp Farm and parts of Faraba Banta.
Two of The Gambia’s largest silk cotton trees grow in Pirang, along with giant baobabs and palms.
MEHDA Guest House hosts responsible tourists who share our respect for local cultures and ecosystem.
Email or call us at least one day in advance. Include meals at Kayira Dorong Dining Center. Looking in on the work of My Sisters Company.
